Luv this

I had been on the look out for a sofa/entry table for over a year. I found one a while back but walked away from it..... silly girl! I love how versatile this piece is! So this is how I made it my own.

The table was in great shape so I had to rough it up a lot! I sanded the top all the way down, and rough sanded the rest.

Then I painted the bottom part with black craft paint.  Used the sander to make it worn, and aged. Then sealed it with poly!

This is the finished product! LUV THIS!

You gotta check it out!!

My friend Melissa makes these really cute signs and the price is more than right! She also can do personalized signs! If you like primitive signs then you will LOVE Perfectly Distressed .

Do you think that is nice?

Can I just start by telling you how new I am at this blogging venture! So be forewarned I am not very good at it. So here goes.....

It all started at Salvation Army, after my friends and I looked at the amazingly ugly sweaters they had to offer, (if you are ever looking for something fun to do with friends, head to Salvation Army and try on a few of the ugliest sweaters they have. It makes for a lot of laughs) we headed to the furniture area. It was there that I found this beautiful piece of work. I was a little hesitant to buy it but my friend Laurie taught me to buy now and think later but only if it is really cheap! So for $7 I went for it. I brought it home and sanded the art work off, I know what your thinking, it's so classy why would you do that. I was just thinking that I did not want to make my friends jealous with this beautiful piece of furniture. So where was I, oh yeah, I painted the entire thing, then I used a sander to make it look worn. Then just a wipe down with stain and a coat of poly and presto a new/old piece of furniture.

The fun part was filling it with cheap, but really cute shelf sitters! So for a total of maybe $30 I got a new/old, really cute piece of furniture, and some really cute new decorations for it! Oh happy day~

Well this is a start...

... to blogging my little "Laurie" projects. So it all started when I was hanging with my awesome friend Laurie. You should see her house, it is so cute. There are primitive things everywhere and most of it she found at Goodwill, Salvation Army, garage sales, or maybe even big item pick up day. I asked how the world did she make it look so amazing? So she let us in on her secret and next thing you know I was making my own "Laurie" projects!!! It is an addiction and so much fun! I honestly would love to start my own business of selling the pieces I have redone and maybe even do refinishing on the side! That is not going to happen anytime soon so for now I will just blog my projects in the hope of spreading "Laurie" projects with the world! Enjoy!!!
